CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

 From your friends at CORNERSTONE

 If Christmas were only a time of commercialized gift-giving it may have run its course years ago.  Christmas is not about the exchange of presents, for we seldom remember what was given or received.  Christmas is about relationships.  Relationships lodge so deeply in our memory that they cannot be erased by time.

 Our relationship with our new son has been delightful. Scott is about to turn two and has brought a wealth of joy to our lives.  This year we watched with amazement as he changed from a baby to a toddler and we are seeing glimpses of a little boy.  He learned to walk, is exploring his world with all five senses, has become proficient in some language unknown to us, gained his own office space, and repeats nearly every word he hears.

 This year relationships changed with some who were close to us—

§           Jean’s dear mother, Frances Stephenson, died and is now with Christ;

§           Winnie Van Wie, our close friend & receptionist, retired and moved away;

§           We said good-bye to some employees due to the economic down-sizing of the company.

 These changes are difficult and cause us to lean more upon God’s strength and wisdom and less upon ourselves.  While these relationships changed, Christmas reminds us again that Christ is unchanging and it is through Him that we have a relationship with God.  God gave us His Child over 2000 years ago with the sole purpose of being God’s sacrifice for human sin.  Receiving God’s gift of Jesus Christ gives us a starting-over point for our lives to be reborn, renewed and rededicated.  Our relationship with Him is all that ultimately matters.

 The circumstances we enjoy this Holiday Season will not always remain the same.  Relationships we now share will one day be but a memory to those who remain.  So we take this opportunity to thank the Lord for bringing you into our lives for this season and for the happiness experienced with one another.  May you find complete peace with God through a personal relationship with His son, Jesus Christ.
