God came to earth through His Son, Jesus, so He could be Immanuel – "God with us" and mankind could "see" its salvation.

Mary and Joseph hugged God, and God hugged them back. It was a hug we all can share. The light in the manger cradle cast a shadow toward the cross where the vulnerable Infant of Bethlehem would soon be the victorious Savior of Golgotha—opening His arms of love on a rugged cross. Salvation’s price was forever paid through that hug.                                                                                                    -Stan Toler

All who receive God’s gift of Love and walk with Him can affirm "He’s been faithful to me." God has been faithful to Cornerstone. This year Cornerstone celebrated its 10th Anniversary. The Bible says "…that there is nothing better for men than to enjoy their work and to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God." (Eccl. 3:12, 13 & 22)

Over these 10 years we have enjoyed our career fields, having companion businesses, sharing office space, and serving as consultants to each other. We have carefully purchased advanced equipment, set policies and developed procedures to create a work environment so our employees may find this career enjoyable also. However our greatest pleasure is being eyewitnesses to the faithfulness of God in the setting of a secular marketplace. There is enormous satisfaction in realizing that God is with us, not only in our places of worship, but in our workdays and in every aspect of our daily lives. We can cite numerous examples over these 10 years of situations God has turned into blessings of service for Him. It causes us to drink deeply of faith, trust, and confidence in Him.

Christmas brings into focus the question of where our faith, trust, and love are invested. Are they on earthly things or on heavenly (eternal) things? It may take effort to "see" Jesus in his birthday celebration, to focus on Him, to learn about Him, to spend time with Him. But it takes no effort to find Jesus, because He came to us, "Immanuel", and is as close as the mention of His name. From His first cry in Bethlehem to His last cry on Calvary He has given us the gift of His undying love. Receiving this gift is the beginning of a new life of joy and peace and hope. We pray that you have already personally experienced, or will experience, the love and peace that God has brought to us through His Son and our Savior, Christ Jesus.
