Merry CHRISTmas 2004 from your friends at CORNERSTONE
Our world is different in December. For one month, we hear the name of Jesus and see the Christ-child more than any other time of the year. Anticipating Christmas day, we rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s promise—the birth of Jesus, who brought HOPE to our dark world.
The Bible speaks of Jesus as “The Cornerstone” and it is after Him that our company is named. God loved the world so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to earth to pay the debt for our sins through His sinless birth and life, death on the cross of Calvary, resurrection from the grave, and ascension into Heaven. It is through Jesus that God offers us forgiveness for our sins. We have placed our faith in Jesus Christ and our company name reminds us to imitate His characteristics in our lives and work.
Work has taken us to the north and south, past and future. It’s been a great adventure to search marshland titles and ancestry back to the King’s Grant; to journey with Col. William Moultrie and his surveyors along the NC/SC State Line of 1774; and to negotiate proposed utility easements with property owners.
As a family we tried something new this year—vacationing. Conferences, business trips and mission trips have been standard fare for years; but now with a small one we needed to carve out some time for family memories. We have fond childhood memories of camping trips with our families and wanted to create similar memories with Scott. So, we tried our hand at camping and it really suits us. We’ve traveled more than 40 days, been to 7 States, graduated from a pop-up to a pull trailer, and can’t wait until the next trip!
Scott’s year as a 3-year-old has had us in awe witnessing a baby fade as a little boy has blossomed. It seems that every day a new skill is being developed, and with it, a desire for independence. He loves puppets, meeting every person he can, and collecting things – like storing ice cubes in his pockets for “later.”
We are thankful that once again, God has proven Himself faithful to us, Cornerstone, and our employees, and we trust Him for our future. May your life be filled with HOPE through Jesus Christ.
